Easter Sunday

What a glorious weekend! The three of us spent Friday night attending a Good Friday service at Glendorado Lutheran than returned home for some good ol' fashion egg dying with PAAS. Will was a good sport and sat in his high chair while we dug out all of the coffee cups, measured vinegar, and bent our wire egg holders. I was happy as a clam writing our names with the little wax crayon and contemplated stickers with duckies and bunnies. Will stayed up long enough to see an 18 pack turn from ordinary to eggstraodinary :)
We spent the weekend spending time with family as both Zach's mom and sister arrived Saturday. We had dinner Saturday night and got things ready for the crowd to come on Sunday. What an amazing day! Zach, Jessie, Will and I headed to New Life Church in Princeton. I thought about leaving Will at home, but he looked so cute in his Easter outfit I just couldn't leave him at home with Grandma, Doug and Alex! The service was part concert part sermon...so for the first 45 minutes there was LOUD music with keyboards and pounding drums. Wouldn't you know Will slept through the whole concert but was wide awake when the church got quiet for the message. He did very well in a long service. Toward the end I took him into the narthex where 3 other little boys his age were toddling around too. I let him burn up some energy and meet new friends before heading back in for the rest of the service.

It was so beautiful outside we decided to put up 4 tables outside and carry all of the chairs out. I do not ever remember, especially this early in April, eating outside and actually enjoying it. There was barely a breeze and the temp was warm. Dinner was fantastic and the company even better. There were twenty-one of us in all. After dinner we had our traditional egg hunt. Zach and Chad hid 112 candy-filled eggs throughout the farm for the kids. Everyone had a great time with candy, bubbles and even an attempt at kite flying...again, not a breeze, so that was a short lived activity. Will didn't take much of a nap and was pretty exhausted by the end of the day and for most of the next day as he caught up from all of his socializing.
Zach's auntie Barb completed a quilt for Will that was made from all kinds of tractor and farm material that matches his nursery linens. It is just beautiful and he is already using it in his crib. He's into balling up his blankets and laying on top of them with his butt up in the air, (love it) so the more padding the happier he is. He nests just like a puppy getting ready to sleep.

The last of our company left late Sunday night and we all fell asleep before our heads hit the pillow. I had Monday off for Spring break and Nancy and Doug stayed until early afternoon, so it was nice to have an extra day to hang out with the family. The next event at our house will be a little celebration for the little mister at the end of this month!

Hoping your family had a blessed Easter filled with love, jelly beans and the promise of eternal life! Praise Jesus!
