It is hard to believe that it has been 2 months already. It doesn't seem that there is much to report as infants don't do many 'tricks' at this stage. Will is smiling and starting to coo and babble just a little bit. He is always so relaxed...I call him my "Chill Baby" among other things. He only cries if I don't make a bottle or change his diaper fast enough. He had his 8 week check up a couple of weeks ago (when he was 7 weeks) and he is right on track. He was 10 lbs 5 oz and 22.25 inches. So I imagine at the moment he's gotta be pushing 11 lbs. He loves being outside and loves to watch the trees blow in the wind. This is a very good thing as we are often outside working in the yard or staying at the resort. He doesn't mind being pool-side with mommy at all.
We are heading to the resort for the 4th and will be leaving Will with my mom on the 8th as we leave for our annual houseboat trip. I do have a little anxiety about it, but this is a trip we always look forward to, and I can't wait to go!! We'll be fine...I just don't want Will to change at all while we are gone. He is changing everyday...I suspect that he'll be riding a bike when we get back!! Ok, so I am being a little over dramatic, but wow do babies grow! He has almost grown out of his newborn clothes and is into the 0-3 month size. I am a little bit sad to see his cute little sleepers getting snug, but in the same respect excited to see him move into all of the cute outfits in the next size bracket! He's such a little fashion plate with all of his fun clothes!
Will is sleeping through the night, waking up around 6am for a bottle but then going right back to sleep until around 9am...so no complaints here! He is getting so strong and loves to lift his head and his body up. It's fun to watch him all bright-eyed as he explores everything around him. He loves his mobile and is starting to notice the toys that are attached to the car seat and bouncy chair. I don't think it will be long before he can engage in playtime with his toys.
I am still in awe of him; the newness has not worn off at all. He makes Zach and I laugh a lot just because he is SO DANG CUTE!!!
Zach celebrated his first Father's Day by sleeping in and just snuggling with Will and I for most of the day. It was pretty low key. We headed to my grandma's for a BBQ that night so we could celebrate with my dad as well. It was nice to see him and Chris, and I was glad Grandpa was able to spend some time with Will. It seems odd to call my parents "Grandma" and "Grandpa" when I am talking to them or Will...they have new names, new roles and it's weird for me!
Well, other than this long 10 days of camping coming up, we are preparing for Will's baptism at the end of the month and that's about it for now. August seems like it might be quieter, but who am I kidding...we'll always have 8 billion things to do! There might be a trip to WA to see "Grandpa" :o) and possibly a weekend to Eau Claire to visit Zach's cousin.
Hope you are all enjoying your summer so far...take it easy and wear your SPF!

Ann,
ReplyDeleteI love reading your delightful thoughts about Will. Hope you have a fun time on your boat trip. Your Mom is awesome and I'm sure she'll be thrilled to have her special time with Will not to mention taking lots of photos. :-)
Much love,
Linda
